Meet Ginny Rossi

I didn’t grow up knowing how to do hair.

I didn’t grow up knowing how to do hair. Like you, I spent years fighting my curls, testing products, and diving headfirst into YouTube tutorials just to figure out what the heck my hair actually needed.

But somewhere along the way, I fell in love with the process. The science, the art, the freedom of letting curls live their best life.

In 2021, I was finishing up a music and psych degree, prepping for grad school in counseling—because I wanted to help people feel better about themselves. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized: I didn’t want to sit in an office. I wanted to create a space where people could walk in feeling like a mess and walk out feeling unstoppable.

So I took a leap of faith. With the encouragement of my husband, Laurence, I pivoted… hard. I went all in, trained with some of the best stylists in Omaha, and specialized in curly hair, customized color, and luxury extensions. Now, I get to take everything I’ve learned and bring it to a town I love.

Why “Fortitude?”

In my Catholic faith, Fortitude is one of the four cardinal virtues—alongside Prudence, Justice, and Temperance. It represents the strength of character to face trials with courage, to stay steady in the face of fear and adversity, and to choose what’s right even when it’s hard. At Fortitude Salon, that meaning runs deep. It’s not just about how you look—it’s about the quiet bravery of showing up as your whole self, and the beauty that comes from standing firm in who you are.

Why Atchison?

Atchison has been in my orbit for years. I spent time here visiting Benedictine College, and in 2020, I moved here to be closer to my now-husband. It’s the kind of town where life slows down in all the right ways—farmers markets, fresh flowers, good people.

But you know what it didn’t have? A salon that truly understands curls, color, and luxury hair services. So I built one.
